Compare weighted kegel sets and kegel balls to find the right pelvic floor exerciser. Learn how weight progression, design, and comfort affect your choice.
Quick answer
Choose a weighted kegel set like the She-Ology Weighted Kegel Set if you want adjustable resistance and a customizable workout. Opt for kegel balls like the Voodoo Cherry Kegel Balls if you prefer a simpler, gradual progression in a compact set.
Weight progression and customization
The main difference comes down to how you control resistance. A weighted kegel set typically includes multiple balls of different weights so you can increase difficulty as your muscles strengthen. Kegel balls, on the other hand, often come in a set with a fixed weight range, offering a simpler path without the need to swap holders.
If you like fine-tuning your workout, the She-Ology set's single and double ball holders let you adjust both weight and placement. If you prefer a straightforward 'start light and get heavier' approach, a five-piece set like Voodoo Cherry gives you that without extra parts.
Design and comfort trade-offs
Material and shape affect how the balls feel during use. The Voodoo Cherry balls are covered in soft body-safe silicone and are waterproof, which makes them easy to clean and comfortable for beginners. The She-Ology set also uses body-safe materials and includes a safety loop on each holder for worry-free removal.
Consider whether you want a single ball or two at once. The She-Ology holder allows both, giving you more control over the intensity. The Voodoo Cherry set uses individual cherries, so you train with one at a time—simpler but less versatile.
How to choose between them
- Adjustability: If you want to control resistance precisely, choose a weighted kegel set with multiple weights and holder options like the She-Ology set. If you're happy with a fixed progression, kegel balls like Voodoo Cherry work fine. Count how many weight levels you need before buying.
- Comfort and ease of use: For a soft, waterproof option that's simple to insert and remove, go with the Voodoo Cherry balls. If you prefer a safety loop for removal and the option of two balls at once, the She-Ology set is better. Check the material and removal method to ensure daily comfort.
- Budget and value: The She-Ology set is priced higher (USD 31.72) but includes more pieces and holder flexibility. The Voodoo Cherry set is more affordable (USD 27.08) and still offers five weight levels. Compare the number of pieces and weight range per dollar.
